This chart tracks the dollar amount of federal contracts awarded to firms in the Washington Primary Metropolitan Statistical Area (PMSA). The firms may subcontract some of the work to firms outside the Washington area, and the entire sum of an award is not necessarily dispersed in the month of the award. Note that Federal Contracts is measured by quarters as dictated by the goverment's fiscal year. Therefore, the first quarter of 1995 is actually October - December, 1994, and the fourth quarter of 1995 runs from July to September, 1995.
Figures on this chart are updated 30 to 60 days after the close of a quarter. Response times vary depending on a particular county or city.
