Over the past few years, Atlantic Coast has restructured itself to drop money-losing operations, concentrate its fleet with fewer aircraft types and focus its service at Dulles, where it now has almost 200 flights a day. After a period of retrenchment, it is growing again. Earlier this month, the company announced plans to build a $10 million maintenance facility at Dulles. Additionally, the airline has ordered its first jet aircraft—12 Canadair 50-seat jets, which are to be delivered beginning this fall.
