How Long Will It Take?

Generally, a refund check will be issued within 6 to 8 weeks when a paper return has been filed. If you elect direct deposit you can expect a deposit within 5 to 7 weeks. E-filers can expect a refund within 3 weeks. If you do not receive your refund, call TeleTax at 800-829-4477 to check on your refund status. Be prepared to provide your Social Security Number, filing status, and amount of the refund.

Check Tax Topic 303 before sending in your return to check for common filing errors.

Note: TeleTax may not have information about your refund until 6 weeks after you file.
