Capitals' salaries lost to the NHL lockout

Players earn their NHL salaries based on how many days they play in each pay period, based on a 185-day season, and receive checks on the 15th and last day of every month. By the new year, players will have missed six of the 13 paychecks they're slated to receive this season.

The following is a breakdown of the salary lost by Washington Capitals players through Friday, Dec. 21, which would have been the 72nd day of the 2012-13 season. Full-season salaries are according to Capgeek.
