Barry Svrluga wrote in Friday's
paper
about the ups and downs of DeAngelo Hall's NFL career. Hall is happy now that he's in Washington, but I'm wondering if everyone's happy with DeAngelo Hall's contribution. Has he been as good as a cornerback earning $9 million a year should be?
If he meets incentives, Hall's yearly salary can match that of perennial All-Pro Champ Bailey. And Hall's
compensation
isn't far from that of the league's highest-paid cornerbacks: Philadelphia's Asante Samuel ($9.5 million a year) and San Francisco's Nate Clement ($10 million).
DHall has all three of the Redskins interceptions this year, but his been
criticized
for his tackling. The painful play I imagine we all remember too well is Hall failing to bring down Jake Delhomme on a naked bootleg, a play that sealed the
Redskins' loss
to the Panthers.
So what does everyone think? Is DeAngelo living up to his big contract?

For the money they spent on Hall, they could have re-signed Springs, signed Leigh Bodden as a FA and given Carlos Rogers an extension and have gotten better production. Hall is an average, over rated CB who is way overpaid by our dysfunctional front office.

Hall is absolutely excellent at being around the ball when a tackle is made. In many cases he will jump on (or just towards in order to not risk injury) the pile after a tackle has been made. He practices what Haynesworth has preached-- That he will make the people around him better (by cordially allowing anyone else on the field to make the tackle before him).
Hall is just another name to add to the Redskins recent bust list, and join such company such as Randle El, Devin Thomas, Haynesworth (would any D tackle be worth $100M?), JC (I was actually a big backer of JC), Smith, and Rinehart.

I don't care how many interceptions Hall has- if a defensive played can't make tackles he is useless to the team. The Delhomme miss was just one example out of many. Hall is very typical of the Redskins inability to evaluate players and to properly compensate talent or lack thereof.
There's lots of other good (or bad) examples of this on the team. I.E. Portis- he's done. Bellicheck would have gotten rid of him already. The Redskins have no idea how to time out these situations and build for the future.
No sense talking about the O line situation. My dog would have handled this better and she's not very smart to start with.
Hopefully Snyder will come to his senses and hire a GM who can re-build our once proud team. If not we're in for a lot more of the same.
