There's just something about all these outfits that is a little too blah for my taste. All three of these women are just so gorgeous -- so when that isn't coming across, you've got to blame the outfit for being off. (Tho poor P.L. is also suffering from some bad photo timing. There weren't any pix of her smiling?) Where's a pop of color when you need one? Nina G. look *amazing* in bright yellow at the Gucci gala -- this neutral look (along with P.L.'s) is just a little too washed out. I'm not sure I'm feeling Heidi's 80s-wash jeans, but the bright yellow shoes are a nice touch. I think Michael Kors has just given up and sticks to this uniform nowadays. Yes, of a t-shirt and a blazer. And to think, he's heralded as a barometer of good taste! If my boyfriend ever put this on, I'd laugh myself silly. : ) Posted by msspinach Poor Padma -- she didn't look terribly happy in any of the photos I saw. Perhaps she was (understandably) appalled to be photographed while wearing such a ghastly ensemble. Who knows? I just calls 'em like I sees 'em. As for Nina, I must say that I thoroughly disagree about her Gucci gala dress. That color would have been astonishing on, say, Liya Kebede. But on the lovely Ms. Garcia's complexion it was a fabulous idea that didn't quite work. I think we can agree on Mr. Kors's beyond-bland ensemble, though. Just because one designs covetable clothes doesn't mean one has great -- or should I say, any -- personal style. Two entirely different skill sets. He's certainly not the only designer (or stylist, or fashion editor) guilty of this, however. Thanks for reading!
