"Inadequate transportation infrastructure is the most pressing issue affecting western Fairfax County, closely followed by funding for our public schools. Traffic gridlock negatively impacts the quality of life of our citizens and the economic prosperity of the region and the entire state. This economic drain reduces the funding available for a host of needs, including our county's public school system. Funding sources need to be found to allow construction of transportation infrastructure that was planned over 20 years ago and never built. Until these improvements are made, traffic will continue to crawl and drain our public purse unnecessarily."
