"I have experience to tackle Virginia's difficult issues, ability to work with all Virginians and leadership to build the coalitions critical for success in Richmond."
"Getting our fair share of education and transportation funding from Richmond. In the last budget, Fairfax lost $46 million in education funding; other regions got more than ever. Restoring our lost funds should be our highest priority. Second, we must fix our continuing deficit in transportation dollars. In 2004, Northern Virginia and Tidewater will control about half of the legislature. We will have the best opportunity in years to move transportation dollars to Fairfax. I successfully led the fight for transportation and education dollars before. Both fights take leadership and hard work to win, but both can be won."
