"Rampant growth in the 43rd District has outpaced the ability of local government and the commonwealth to provide the quality services citizens expect. Our state and local elected officials need to work better together on behalf of the same taxpayer. As part of comprehensive tax reform, a portion of our existing income tax should be sent directly back, dollar for dollar, to the locality where it was generated. This will help reduce local government's over-reliance on the real estate property tax to pay for schools, libraries, public safety, open space preservation and public transit."
