Why should voters elect you?"We need to continue the work started by my historic election. We proved that Arlingtonians value both responsible government policies and a diverse, inclusive community."
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?"Arlington's primary challenge is maintaining our quality of life and our diversity in the face of increases in the cost of housing and state budget cutbacks that threaten essential local services. We must ensure that Arlington maintains its financial health. It will take careful fiscal responsibility for Arlington to remain a strong, caring community. Since I joined the Arlington County Board, I have worked to fully fund our schools, parks, transportation network and social services, while leading new efforts to mentor at-risk children and to increase affordable housing opportunities so that no Arlingtonian will be left behind."
