Transportation congestion, frequent redistricting of students and rising debt service for school construction¿fueled by growth¿directly impact everyone's daily life. Producing a cost-sensitive budget and promoting economic development to balance rising property taxes is crucial. Unfortunately, with decreased state funding in education and transportation and a minuscule return from Richmond of our income tax dollars, more must still be done. I will continue to pressure Richmond to adequately fund state-mandated programs and to provide necessary tools for responsible growth management."
