"The greatest threat to the 67th District is inadequate transportation. Without road improvements and better public transit, the Routes 50, 28, 66 and Fairfax County Parkway corridors will strangle. We must act to put the Transportation Trust truly in trust. We must develop a consensus for realistic solutions to include highway improvements, bus and rail. We must then maximize funding from federal, state and local entities. Only by dedicating the Transportation Trust to transportation instead of treating it as a slush fund can we earn the people's trust and reach a consensus behind solutions and additional requisite funding."
