"I've a fiscally conservative approach to budgeting. It's essential that we fund core programs and services while limiting spending and maintaining a low tax burden."
"In a district as diverse as the 28th, there is no one pressing problem. In the Stafford/Fauquier area, managing growth is important. Growth strains local government resources and places enormous internal pressure on the budget process. Building and maintaining the infrastructure needed to support a large population increase is one of the greatest challenges facing local and state officials in fast-growing areas. In the Northern Neck, economic development and protecting the environment are both pressing issues. Balancing environmental concerns with the need to create employment opportunities and revitalize the seafood industry is important to the future of this region."
