Biography:

George Ajjan touts himself as a "fifth generation" member of his family born in the United States. His family is of Syrian descent.

Ajjan was born in Paterson, N.J., and has grew up in the area. He attended Johns Hopkins University and earned a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering in 1998.

He returned to New Jersey and worked as a factory manager at a Procter & Gamble manufacturing facility in Avenel. In 2003, Ajjan earned a masters of business administration degree at the London Business School, where he focused on entrepreneurship.

Ajjan is a full-time candidate now. Prior to that, he worked with northern New Jersey businesses as a consultant on their marketing practices.

Ajjan said he is a lifelong parishioner of St. Ann Melkite Catholic Church in West Paterson, where he has served on the Parish Council and taught religious education.
