Biography:

Beau Babka is the captain of police in South Salt Lake City, where he has worked since 1992. Babka is also an adjunct professor in the Criminal Justice/Social Science Department of Salt Lake Community College.

He holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Weber State University, a master's of public administration from Brigham Young University and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Babka played football at Hawaii, Arizona and Delta State, a junior college. He and his wife, Kim, have six children and live in Draper, Utah. He is a Mormon and a member of several state and local law enforcement agencies.
