Biography:

A Tylertown, Miss., native, Judy Belk is a graduate of the University of South Alabama, where she earned her bachelor's degree in secondary education and a master's degree in business education.

She served on the Mobile County school board from 1983 to 1988, serving as board president for four years. She now owns McCain Real Estate and a fast food company, both in Citronelle.

Belk and her husband, Steve, have an adult son and one granddaughter.
