Biography:

John Boozman was born on Dec. 10, 1950 in Shreveport, La. He is the brother of Arkansas' state Health Director, Fay Boozman, who lost a race for the U.S. Senate in 1998.

Boozman is the co-founder of Boozman-Hof Regional Eye Clinic, which has become a major provider of eye care to Northwest Arkansas.

Boozman is married to Cathy Marley. They have three daughters.


Past Campaigns:

John Boozman won 56 percent of the vote in the 2001 special election to represent northwestern Arkansas, which is the most conservative section of the state.

He was unchallenged by a major party candidate in 2002.
