Biography:

Born in Maine, Jeb Bradley grew up in Wolfeboro, N.H., where he grew up and worked in his parents' hardware store. He moved back to Wolfeboro in 1981 after living in Switzerland, where he worked as a magician.

He occasionally performs magic acts at New Year's Eve celebrations in Wolfeboro. Bradley owned and operated a health food store with his wife before selling it in 1997. He also ran a painting business. Most recently, he managed real estate.

He was elected to the town Planning Board in 1986. He was elected to the Budget Committee, which prepares the annual budget for Town Meeting, three years later. He was a registered Democrat until 1989, when he switched to the GOP.

He won a seat in the New Hampshire House the next year and was re-elected five times. He won the 1st Congressional District seat in 2002 when Rep. John Sununu moved up to the Senate.

He and his wife Barbara have three sons and one daughter.


Past Campaigns:

Jeb Bradley defeated seven rivals in a hotly contested Republican primary for the 1st District seat, which was open because Republican incumbent John E. Sununu was running for the U.S. Senate.

He won the Sept. 10, 2002, primary with 23,012 votes to 16,956 for John Stephen, assistant state safety commissioner, and 13,861 for businessman Sean Mahoney.

In the general election campaign, Bradley was elected with 58 percent of the vote.
