Biography:

Mark Brown was born in 1956 in Columbus, Ohio, and currently resides there. He graduated from St. Charles High School in Columbus in 1975 and has taken some classes at Columbus State Community College.

Brown is a privately employed technical inspector who works on bridges, roads, and commercial and government buildings. He also has worked as a stained glass technician and served in the Ohio National Guard from 1981 to 1987.

He lost congressional elections in 1988 and 2002.


Past Campaigns:

Mark Brown ran for Congress in the 12th District in 1988, losing to incumbent Republican Rep. John Kasich 20 percent to 80 percent.

He ran for the 15th District in 2002, losing to incumbent Republican Rep. Deborah Pryce 33 percent to 67 percent. He earned 50 percent of the vote to win the March 2, 2004, primary for the 15th District.
