Biography:
Steve Brozak was born in New York City and lives in Westfield, N.J.
Brozak put himself through college working in the restaurant business, earning his bachelor's degree in East Asian Studies from Columbia University in 1982. In 1994, he received his MBA from Columbia Univeristy's Executive Program.
Brozak was commissioned into the Marine Corps after college, where he served until 1985 as an infantry commander and public affairs officer.
Brozak worked for several Wall Street firms such as Salomon Brothers, Dean Witter, Cowen & Company, Alex, and Brown & Sons, before co-founding the firm of Westfield Bakerink Brozak LLC, an investment bank specializing in biotechnology, medical devices and healthcare research.
Brozak remained in the Marine Reserves and during his tour in Iraq, he was a liaison with companies whose employees had been called up for duty. He accompanied a survey team that assessed how reservists were affected by their deployment.
Brozak retired from the Marine Reserves in May 2004.
