Biography:

Dave Camp was born in Midland, Mich., where he still lives. He graduated from Albion College in 1975. He attended the University of Sussex in 1973 and received a law degree from the University of San Diego in 1978.

Camp served as a special assistant attorney general from 1980 to 1984. He became the top aide to U.S. Rep. Bill Schuette, and in 1986 managed Schuette's successful re-election campaign. He served in the Michigan House from 1988 to 1990, and won election to the U.S. House in 1990.

Camp and his wife, Nancy, have three children.


Past Campaigns:

Dave Camp was elected to the U.S. House in 1990 with 66 percent of the vote, defeating Democrat Joan Louise Dennison. He has been re-elected every two years since then, never receiving less than 64 percent of the vote.
