Biography:

Katherine Fox Carr was born in Marion County, Ind., graduated from White's High School and attended Porter College and Marian College.

She taught religious education for 10 years and tutored reading for many years in the Franklin Township Schools.

She now works part time as a licensed real estate broker and licensed substitute teacher.

Her husband, Cornelius Carr, is retired. They have four children.


Past Campaigns:

Katherine Carr beat Mike Brinegar in the Democratic primary in May with more than 60 percent of the vote. She also was the nominee in the 5th District in 2002, but got less than 30 percent of the vote in losing to longtime Republican Rep. Dan Burton. The district is considered one of the strongest Republican strongholds in the nation.
