Biography:
Christine Cegelis lives in Rolling Meadows, a suburb of Chicago. She runs her own computer consulting company.
She was born in Union Town, Pa. Her paternal grandparents settled in Pennsylvania after emigrating to the U.S. from Lithuania in the 1920s.
When she was two years old, her parents moved to Florida in search of better jobs. Cegalis graduated from Florida State University in 1975 with a degree in international relations and public administration. While in college, she worked as a telephone operator and a desk clerk at a hotel.
She began working for Eastern Airlines in 1975. She left Eastern in 1983 to work for U.S. Airways in Washington D.C.
She moved to Illinois in 1986 after landing a job with Elk Grove Village-based United Airlines. Cegelis spent about a year at United before deciding to start her own business. She is divorced and has two adult sons.
