Biography:

Herb Conaway is currently serving as a New Jersey Assemblyman, in his third term. He represents the 7th Legislative District. He is the Deputy Speaker of the Assembly, and is also the vice-chairman of the Health and Human Services Committee, and serves on the Appropriations and Agriculture and Natural Resources committees.

Conaway is the only member of the Legislature who has both a medical and a law degree. He specializes in internal medicine and practices in Willingboro, N.J.

Raised in Burlington County, he received his bachelor's degree in politics from Princeton University and earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and his law degree from Rutgers Law School.

The assemblyman served as a United States Air Force Captain in the medical corps at McGuire Air Force Base as a general medical officer and as an assistant director of the Primary Care Clinic for the Air Force Base.

Currently, Conaway serves on the Board of Trustees of Family Service of Burlington County and Boys and Girls Club of Burlington County.
