Biography:
Matt Connealy was born in Oakland, Neb., and is a graduate of Decatur High School. He attended college at St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn., and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Connealy was elected to the Nebraska legislature in 1998, serving as Vice Chair of the Revenue and Urban Affairs Committees, and past Chair of the Business and Labor Committee.
Prior to serving in the legislature, he was a member of the Lyons-Decatur School Board, the Governors Agriculture Advisory Committee, the Nebraska Ethanol Board, the Omaha Archdiocesan Pastoral Council, and the Burt County Public Power Board of Directors.
He farms 2,900 acres in Burt and Thurston counties with his brothers, Richard and Mike.
He and his wife, Judith, have been married for 29 years and they have two grown children.
