Why should voters elect you?
"I have the experience and the integrity to continue to represent District 1 with an independent voice in Congress."

What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction?
"Since Sept. 11, 2001, we have had to fully engage in a war against terrorism both at home and abroad. We have dramatically increased spending on homeland security and defense for our military to have all the needed resources to go after the terrorists. The economic effects of 9/11 have also been devastating and are just beginning to turn around. Now is the time for Congress to tackle the budget deficit and other issues, like health care. District 1 continues to face the same problems of controlling growth responsibly while allowing for economic development and job growth."
