Biography:

Bill Gluba was born in Davenport, Iowa on October 7, 1942.

He received a bachelor's degree in political science from St. Ambrose College in Davenport. He received a master's degree in political science from the University of Iowa.

Gluba is active in the civil rights movement and took part in the historic march on Washington in 1963 and has campaigned for the Equal Rights Amendment.

He was elected to the Iowa General Assembly in 1970, then won a seat in the Iowa Senate in 1972. He served two terms in the Senate.

For over thirty years, Gluba has been a licensed real estate broker with RE/MAX River Cities. Inc., Bettendorf, Iowa.

Gluba and his wife Patricia (Trish) have five grown children and one granddaughter.

Past Campaigns:

Gluba was elected to the Iowa House of Representatives in 1970 receiving 58 percent of the vote. He was elected to the Iowa Senate in 1972 with 59 percent of the vote, and re-elected again in 1974 by a 69 percent voter margin.

He was the only Democrat elected to the all Republican Scott County Board of Supervisors in 1976. In 1978, he was elected Chairman of the Scott County board.
