Biography:
Greg Harris was born in 1971 and grew up in Bloomington, Ill. He attended Illinois State University and earned his bachelor's degree in English. He received his Ph.D. in English from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Harris now lives in Cincinnati.
Harris has worked as the executive director and consultant to Citizens for Civic Renewal, a nonprofit, public policy organization that promotes good government. He has been program manager for an Americorps youth leadership development program, where he recruited inner-city young adults to work as apprentices in service agencies in Greater Cincinnati.
Harris currently is a public policy consultant and grant writer for Columbus-based Greater Ohio and a part-time English professor at Cincinnati State.
Harris is divorced and has one son.

Greg Harris was the Democratic nominee for the 1st District in 2002 but lost to incumbent Republican Rep. Steve Chabot 35 percent to 65 percent. He earned 61 percent of his party's vote to win the March 2, 2004, primary for the 1st District race.
