Biography:

Jeb Hensarling was born in Stephenville, Texas and raised in College Station. He earned his bachelor's degree in economics from Texas A and M University and his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. He has lived in several small towns across Texas, but moved to Dallas in 1984.

He has worked as an aide to Sen. Phil Gramm and was executive director of the National Republican Senate Committee.

He and his wife, Melissa, have a daughter, Claire.

Jeb Hensarling was first elected to Congress in 2002. He received 58 percent of the vote against Democrat Ron Chapman.
