Biography:
Lois Herr was born in Hershey, Pa. She attended Elizabethtown College, received a master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and taught for a year in Middletown Township, N.J., before going to work for Bell Laboratories in 1964.
She spent most of 26 years with Bell companies in four states and Washington D.C., retiring as the director of marketing for NYNEX in 1990.
She took time out in 1974 and 1975 to earn a master's in business administration and take part in the President's Exchange Program, working in the federal Office of Management and Budget.
Since 1990, she has lived in Lancaster County, teaching, volunteering, and serving on public boards.
