Biography:

Don Hooper was born in Iron River, Mich., and still lives there with his family. He was in the U.S. Army for three years during the Korean War and attended North Park University.

He owned a small trucking business for 27 years. He and his wife, Esther, have four children.


Past Campaigns:

Don Hooper got 31 percent of the vote in the 2002 general election for the 1st District U.S. House seat. He lost to U.S. Rep. Bart Stupak, who won 68 percent of the vote.
