Biography:
Jon Jennings was born in 1962 in Richmond, Ind. After graduating from high school in 1981 _ the first in his family to do so _ he went to Indiana University.
His sophomore year, he started working for legendary coach Bobby Knight as a student manager. Still a student, he was later hired by the Indiana Pacers as a scout and video coordinator.
In 1986, he was hired by Boston Celtic Coach K.C. Jones as an assistant coach and scouting coordinator. He is currently the Midwest collegiate scout for the Celtics.He also has worked for the government.
In 1997, he was hired to work in the Clinton White House in positions such as director of policy coordination and liaison to the President's Initiative on Race. He joined the U.S. Department of Justice in 1999 where he served as acting assistant attorney general and as its primary liaison to Congress.
In addition to his degree from IU, Jennings also has a master's in public adminstration from Harvard.
In 2002, Jennings married Amy Elsea, after the two were reunited at their 20th high school reunion. Their first child, Abigail Agnes Jennings, was born in November 2003.
