Biography:

Larry Kaczala was born in 1956 in Toledo, Ohio. He majored in psychology, graduating from the University of Toledo in 1978, and the University of Toledo Law School in 1983.

Kaczala worked in the Lucas County auditor's office from 1982 to 1989. He was elected to Toledo City Council in 1991 and was appointed auditor in 1993. He has been elected to the post three times.

He also teaches real estate law and civil rights and ethics at the University of Toledo.

Kaczala and his wife, Gina-Marie, have no children.


Past Campaigns:

Larry Kaczala was elected to Toledo City Council in 1991. A year after he was appointed Lucas County auditor, he was elected to the job in 1994. He was re-elected in 1998 and 2002.

In the 2004 primary, Kaczala won the chance to challenge Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur in the fall. He defeated Ed Emery by getting 65 percent of the vote.
