Biography:

Ric Anthony Keller was born in Johnson City, Tenn., and lives in Orlando, Fla. He received a bachelor's degree from East Tennessee State University in 1986 and a law degree from Vanderbilt in 1992.

Keller is a partner in the Orlando law firm of Rumberger, Kirk & Caldwell. He and his wife, Cathy, have two children.

He was first elected to Congress in 2000.


Past Campaigns:

Ric Keller was elected to Congress in 2000 in his first bid for public office. In the first Republican primary he won 31 percent of the vote compared to 43 percent for state Rep. Bill Sublette and 26 percent for Bob Hering. In the runoff Keller won 52 percent to 48 percent for Sublette.

He then defeated Democrat Linda Chapin with 51 percent of the vote. In 2002, Keller defeated former police officer Eddie Diaz with 65 percent of the vote.
