Biography:

Myrah Kirkwood was born and raised in Detroit. She earned a bachelor's degree from Spring Arbor College and a master's degree from the University of Detroit.

In 1977, she was in one of the first graduating classes of female police cadets in Detroit. She served on the city's police force for 16 years. She is now a regional security manager for McDonald's Corp. in charge of the Midwest.

She is married with one child.
