Donald Manzullo lost his bid for the 16th District GOP nomination in 1990 to state Rep. John Hallock.
Two years later, he won the seat with 56 percent of the vote, defeating Democrat John W. Cox Jr.
He was re-elected in 1994 with 71 percent, defeating Democrat Pete Sullivan. He was re-elected in 1996 with 60 percent of the vote against Democrat Catherine Lee.
Manzullo was re-elected in 1998 without opposition. In 2000, he was re-elected with 67 percent of the vote against Charles Hendricksen.
He was re-elected in 2002.
