Biography:

Gary McLeod was born Nov. 28, 1942, in Leonardtown, Md., and his family moved to South Carolina the following year.

He attended Spartanburg Junior College, served in the U.S. Navy for four years and worked as a dairy farmer. He lives in Manning, S.C.

He is divorced and has one child.


Past Campaigns:

Gary McCleod has made four unsuccessful bids for the 6th District seat.

McLeod won the June 2004 GOP primary, beating challenger Michael Reino with 79 percent of the vote.

McLeod is also the nominee of the Libertarian and Constitution parties in his bid to replace U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn.
