Biography:

Doug McNea was born in San Diego in 1947 and grew up in Southern California. He studied engineering at San Diego State University before enlisting in the Navy in 1968.

He served on an aircraft carrier, part of the time off the Vietnam coast. He left the Navy in 1974 and went to work for the NWT Corporation, a nuclear water and waste company. He has worked for the company since.

McNea has been married to his wife, Donna, for 30 years. They have four children.

Doug McNea first ran for Congress in 2002, losing to incumbent Zoe Lofgren with 30 percent of the vote.
