Biography:
Gary Page was born to an Air Force family living in San Antonio, Texas. As a child, he moved to military bases in Taiwan, Germany and Maryland until his father retired and the family settled to the small town of Boerne, outside San Antonio.
Page graduated from Boerne High School in 1975 and received a Navy scholarship to the University of Texas at Austin. He left the Navy to work as a computer technician.
He was laid off during the economic downturn of the 1980s and spent six years working in carpentry, cabinetry, roofing, painting and other jobs until he established a business installing minicomputer networks. Page was then hired by a technology company and became a programmer working in sites in Maine, Texas and Colorado. He landed a long-term contract in Dallas and recently became a permanent employee.
Page worked on political campaigns in the Dallas area. In 2002, was a Green Party candidate for the vacated seat of Dick Armey. He lost that bid, but is trying again this year, running as a Democrat against veteran state Rep. Kenny Marchant.
