Biography:
After her father lost his job, Jeanne Patterson got scholarships and worked her way through Avila College in Kansas City, Mo. She went to work at what was then a local health care start-up company, Cerner, which today has 5,000 employees.
Patterson worked in marketing and client services and helped start a program to help children of Cerner employees attend pre-school where their parents work.
Her husband, Neal, is Cerner's CEO. They live in the Kansas City suburb of Belton and have four children.
