Biography:
Charles Pringle was born November 8, 1936, in Frederick, Okla., where as a five-year-old he sold newspapers on the street.
When he was 11, Charles moved to Oakley, Calif., in eastern Contra Costa County, where he worked in his grandmother's garden and on neighboring farms on the weekends to help support his family.
He attended Diablo Valley College before graduating from Pasadena City College in 1959.
Now retired, he has spent the past 35 years developing subdivisions, primarily in Contra Costa County.
He is married and has four children and two stepchildren.
