Biography:

Thomas M. Reynolds is a Clarence, N.Y., resident and graduate of Kent State University. A licensed real estate and insurance broker, he first held public office as a member of the Concord (N.Y.) Town Council, 1974-82. He was an Erie County (N.Y.) legislator, 1982-88, and Republican leader of the county legislature, 1987-88. He served as Erie County Republican Chairman, 1990-96.

Reynolds was elected to the New York state Assembly in 1988, representing the 147th district. He was elected minority leader of the Assembly in 1995. Reynolds is a former director of the Better Business Bureau, Cooperative Extension and Central Referral Services.

He was elected to the U.S. House in 1998 and re-elected in 2000 and 2002.

Reynolds and his wife, Donna, have four children.


Past Campaigns:

Thomas Reynolds was elected to the New York state Assembly in 1988 and won re-election to four consecutive terms. He was elected to the Concord (N.Y.) Town Council in 1974. He was re-elected in 2000 with 70 percent of the vote. Reynolds was first elected to the U.S. House in 1998, winning the seat vacated by Republican Rep. Bill Paxon. Reynolds defeated Democrat Bill Cook with 58 percent of the vote.

In the 2000 general election he defeated Democrat Thomas Pecoraro. with 70 percent of the vote.

He defeated Democrat Ayesha Nariman in 2002 with 74 percent of the vote.
