Biography:

John Salazar of Manassa, Colo., is a potato seed farmer and one-term state representative.

Salazar earned a degree in business from Adams State College. In addition to his political duties, he runs the family's 2,500-acre potato farm, using a private plane to get across the sprawling San Luis Valley.

He and his wife, Mary Lou, have three sons.


Past Campaigns:

John Salazar was elected to the Colorado House in 2002. He ran unopposed in the Democratic primary for the 3rd Congressional District.
