Biography:

David Scott grew up in South Carolina and moved to Atlanta in 1969 after graduating from Pennsylvania's prestigious Wharton School of Finance. He worked for several management consulting firms in the 1970s and advised then-Gov. Jimmy Carter on revenue policy from 1969 to 1973.

He has a wife and two children, runs an outdoor advertising company and lives in Atlanta's Inman Park neighborhood, which is actually not in the 13th District. Home run champion and former Atlanta Brave Hank Aaron is his brother-in-law.


Past Campaigns:

In David Scott's first bid for Congress in 2002, he faced four Democratic challengers but won the nomination without a runoff. He went on to capture the House seat in the general election, winning 59 percent of the vote.
