Biography:

Bill Thomas was born in Wallace, Idaho, but moved to California as a child and graduated from Garden Grove High School in Southern California in 1959.

He attended from Santa Ana Community College before transferring to San Francisco State University, where he received a bachelor's degree in 1963 and a master's degree in 1965.

Thomas taught political science at Bakersfield Community College before he was elected to the state Assembly in 1974. He served two terms in the state legislature before winning a seat in the House of Representatives in 1978.

He and his wife, Sharon, have two grown children.


Past Campaigns:

Bill Thomas was elected to the California Assembly in 1974 and re-elected in 1976. He won a House seat in 1978 and is serving his 13th consecutive term. He was unopposed in the March 2004 Republican primary and is seeking his 14th term in Congress.
