Biography:

Phillip Truran was born Oct. 31, 1966, in Wayne, Mich. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1988 to 1993. When he got out of the Navy, he worked as a tool and dye maker until 1995, when he entered Wayne State University. He graduated in 1999 with a degree in business.

Truran is now the president of Communications Workers of America Local 4013, which represents workers from Ameritech, among other companies.

He is divorced and has two children.


Past Campaigns:

Phillip Truran won the 2004 Democratic primary for the 11th U.S. House District with 68.9 percent of the vote over Mario Fundarski, who also lives in Novi.
