Biography:

Greg Tucker is a lawyer and district attorney in San Juan County in northwestern New Mexico. Tucker grew up in Farmington, a community of about 38,000 located along the edge of the Navajo Nation.

He is part owner of a title company, which was started in Farmington by his grandfather and then operated by his father. Tucker received a bachelor's degree in business administration and finance from Arizona State University in 1996, and then went to law school, earning a degree from the University of New Mexico in 1999.

While an undergraduate student, Tucker attended the University of Bradford in England in 1995 as part of an exchange program in international business management.

After receiving his law degree, Tucker worked for a Farmington law firm and became an assistant district attorney in mid-2000. He won election as district attorney in the 2000 general election. Tucker is married with two children.

Past Campaigns:

Greg Tucker was unopposed for the Republican nomination in the 3rd Congressional District in the June 2004 primary. He faces Democratic incumbent Tom Udall in the November general election.

Tucker was elected district attorney in San Juan County in 2000 with 57 percent of the vote. He defeated Democrat June Stein. He won the 2000 GOP primary, defeating a former state district court judge for the nomination.
