Why should voters elect you? "I will continue to work hard to effectively represent the values and priorities of the people of this district on international, national and local issues."
What do you think is the most urgent problem facing your jurisdiction? "There are a host of critical issues. Every child must have the opportunity to succeed. No Child Left Behind education initiative, Head Start and special education must be fully funded. Work to expand college access. Phase in system of universal health care, including mental health. Preserve Social Security and Medicare. Stop rollbacks on environmental protections; develop sustainable energy policy. Invest in transportation infrastructure and homeland security. Protect civil rights, including the right to choose. End reckless fiscal policy that passes debts to our children. Maintain strong defense but recognize that successful war on terrorism depends on more than military power alone."
