Tracy Velazquez (pronounced vuh-LASS-kiss) was born and raised in Connecticut. She moved to Montana in 1994.
She holds a bachelor's degree in social studies from Harvard University and a master's degree in public administration from Montana State University.
She and her husband, Dennis Alexander, run a public health consulting firm, Commonweal Consulting, in Bozeman. The business specializes in clients that are nonprofit and faith-based organizations.
The couple has four children.
