Biography:

Greg Walcher, a peach grower from Palisade, Colo., is former director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, former executive director of the Club 20 lobbying group and a member of the Rotary Club.

He resigned as director of the state's Department of Natural Resources in 2004 to clear the way to run for Congress.

He received a bachelor's degree from Mesa State College.

Walcher has the endorsement of powerful former GOP Sens. Bill Armstrong and Hank Brown, along with the Club for Growth, American Medical Association, Gun Owners of America, American Conservative Union.

He and his wife, Diana, have one daughter.
